This won't be a long post, I just wanted another blog page to test my blog layout, and I thought this would be a good time to detail some goals I have for the last part of this year.
My immediate goal is to complete my 1970's denim vest and pant set. I would love to start wearing it to class and out and about. The next immediate goal is to make my renaissance festival costume for my visit in October. I also want to wear it to my sister's birthday party on September 19th, so that narrows my window even farther. I have a few patterns for costumes in my stash, and I want to source my fabric from my mom's hoard to hopefully make this project as cheaply as possible.
Also for my sister's party, her sister-in-law and I have tasked ourselves with making a table spread. The party is Lord of the Rings themed, so we are making a "hobbit" table.
That's all for the immediate tasks. A less urgent goal of mine is to purchase a dress form and try my hand at draping my first garment. Before that, though, will be researching as much as I can on the skill. If possible, I would like to make a dress for Phantom of the Opera in November and The Nutcracker in December. Perhaps a boat-neck dress in a wintery fabric.
These are my project goals so far, not including all of the Christmas presents I need to work on. I will be sure to update as I work on these goals. xoxo Magginolia
